Remove the background from an image
Remove background cuts the subject out of a picture and leaves the rest transparent, ready to drop onto anything. It runs on your own computer, so your photos are never uploaded.
What it does
- Six models: U2-Net for general use, U2-Netp for speed, Human for people, and three BiRefNet models for the finest edges.
- A transparent background, or a flat colour of your choice.
- Edge softness and smoothing, for hair and soft outlines.

- Model: which of the six to use.
- Behind the subject: nothing, or a flat colour.
- Edge softness and Edge smoothing.
Works with
Images (PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, AVIF and HEIC).
Needs the Image AI add-on, about 190 MB, downloaded once from inside EYU SUITS. Each model is downloaded the first time you use it.
How it works
- 01Open the file in EYU SUITS: drop it anywhere in the window, or press Choose a file.
- 02Pick Remove background from the tools listed beside it, and change the settings if you want to. The defaults are a sensible start.
- 03Press Run. The result is saved to your EYU SUITS folder, and the original is left as it was.
Questions
Which model is best for people?
Human, or BiRefNet Portrait for the finest edges around hair. BiRefNet Portrait is slower.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The cut out is made on your computer.
