Remove EXIF and GPS data from photos
Strip metadata removes the hidden information a photo carries, such as the camera, the date, and where it was taken, before you share it.
What it does
- Removes EXIF data, including GPS location.
- Turns the picture the right way up first, so it still looks right without the orientation tag.
- JPEGs are re-saved at high quality (95).
What you can set
- Nothing to set: open the photo and run it.
Works with
Images (PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, AVIF and HEIC).
How it works
- 01Open the file in EYU SUITS: drop it anywhere in the window, or press Choose a file.
- 02Pick Strip metadata from the tools listed beside it, and change the settings if you want to. The defaults are a sensible start.
- 03Press Run. The result is saved to your EYU SUITS folder, and the original is left as it was.
Questions
Why remove it?
Photos from phones often record the exact GPS position they were taken at. Removing it means a posted picture cannot give away where you live or work.
How do I see what a photo carries?
Use Read details, which lists the camera, date, location and more.
