Remove background noise from a recording
Remove noise takes hiss, hum and the sound of the room out from under a voice. It learns what the noise sounds like from the quietest moments of the recording and subtracts it, on your own computer.
What it does
- Cleans up steady noise: hiss, electrical hum and room tone.
- Builds the noise profile from the recording itself, so there is nothing to sample by hand.
- One Strength control, from a light touch to heavy.
- Processes every channel of a stereo recording.
What you can set
- Strength: how much of the noise to remove. Past about 0.9 a voice starts to sound underwater.
Works with
Audio (WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, WMA, OPUS and AIFF).
How it works
- 01Open the file in EYU SUITS: drop it anywhere in the window, or press Choose a file.
- 02Pick Remove noise from the tools listed beside it, and change the settings if you want to. The defaults are a sensible start.
- 03Press Run. The result is saved to your EYU SUITS folder, and the original is left as it was.
Questions
Will my voice sound processed?
At high strength it can. Start at the default and raise it only as far as the recording needs.
Can I clean up the sound of a video?
Take the sound out with Extract audio, clean it here, and use the clean file in your edit.
