Trim video and audio, or cut parts out
Trim keeps the part of a video or recording you want and drops the rest. Switch it to cut sections out and it removes one or more parts from the middle instead, then joins what is left.
What it does
- Keep one section between a start and an end time.
- Cut several sections out and keep everything around them.
- When the start lands on a keyframe, the video is copied as it is: instant, with nothing re-encoded.
- When it does not, EYU SUITS re-encodes so the cut lands on the exact frame, on the graphics card when there is one.
- Works on audio files too.
What you can set
- What to do: keep one section, or cut sections out.
- Start and End: the times to cut at.
- Re-encode: always make a fresh encode, even when a copy would do.
Works with
Video (MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, WEBM, M4V, MPG, WMV and FLV) and audio (WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, WMA, OPUS and AIFF).
How it works
- 01Open the file in EYU SUITS: drop it anywhere in the window, or press Choose a file.
- 02Pick Trim / Cut out from the tools listed beside it, and change the settings if you want to. The defaults are a sensible start.
- 03Press Run. The result is saved to your EYU SUITS folder, and the original is left as it was.
Questions
Does trimming reduce the quality?
Not when the section can be copied, which is whenever the start lands on a keyframe. When it cannot, the section is re-encoded at high quality so the cut is exact.
Can I take a section out of the middle?
Yes. Choose Cut sections out, mark the parts you do not want, and the rest is joined back together.
